Vietnam Scouts give aid to flood victims in the Central of Vietnam
Quang Binh, Nghe An and Ha Tinh - After a magnificent heavy rain lasted for several days, a flood has formed and caused fatal loss and damage in this 3 provinces area. It is said to be the heaviest rain ever occurred in Vietnam. After receiving information about loss and damage due to heavy rain and flooding situation, the Executive Board of Vietnam Scouts has called for help and donation from scouts by saving and other kind of contribution from October 17 to November 3 in order to give aid to the victims. As of November 3, scouts in Vietnam had contributed over 800 million VND in cash. The Executive Board of Vietnam Scouts has sent 2 teams to come directly to the core of the flood near Gianh River in Quang Binh Province. We gave a pax of 500,000 VND for each household (equivalent to 23USD/household), total aid: 550 million VND.
Meanwhile, there was other scout groups came to support the victims. They brought clothes, medicine and water purifying powder directly to them. At present, not only 3 said provinces are now flooded, flood in other provinces in the south of Central of Vietnam such as Quang Nam, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen is raising rapidly. Thousands of houses are submerged, many people died according to a short report.
